Who is this 'k-wix' and what does he do?
Dustin
Kulwicki, also known as 'k-wix', has been composing music for about
7 years. Initially getting his start in the
video game remix scene, he
dedicated himself to the community and honed his craft until he
could produce something that was respectable. After getting his
start in the community, he started to branch out and produce
original music with an album debuting in 2010 called 'Leave
The Square'. Since then, Dusty has continued to work on his
skills as a composer and musician, and eventually decided to become
a freelance music composer for video games. His first project was
released in 2011,
Cave Story 3D
for the Nintendo 3DS.
What kind of music?
Electronic and orchestral music is his forte, but
he considers himself an omnivore of music. willing to take a stab at
any sort of score - he loves music in all of its forms and
constantly works to learn multiple genres of music.
How about Interests and Hobbies?
Video games are Dustins primary hobby and
interest. He devours every game he can get his hands on and has
probably played nearly every single game you have ever heard of, yes
- even the indie stuff. When not slaying orcs and saving princesses,
He can usually be found reading a book, or spending time with
friends and family.
Hey k-wix, what is up with your name? How do you pronounce it?
I get this question quite often. Back when I was
originally trying to make a splash in the community - I came up with
the name 'k-wix'. I was trying to come up with a play on my last
name, which was pretty tough to pronounce. In my head, I was
thinking of it pronounced like 'kay-wicks'. And I thought 'hey! that
sounds cool!' so I went with it. Unfortunately, the internet was not
onboard with my plan and almost everyone pronounced the name 'quicks'.
So in the end, I commonly answer to both names. |
